Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The IUP Research Institute (IUP RI or RI) is an affiliated entity of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) that was formed in accordance with the Pennsylvania State System Board of Governor’s Policy 1985-04-A titled University External Financial Support, which allows the State System Universities to develop independent sources of financial support and allows independent support at levels sufficient to facilitate the enhancement of the university. Over the years the IUP RI has provided numerous services to PASSHE universities as it relates to sponsored programs, grants, and sponsored research. The IUP RI through the years has further developed pre and post award processes, implemented software tools, and has provided Principal Investigator training and mentorship programs to these participating universities, all in connection with both domestic and international education and research partnership opportunities. The IUP RI has partnered with Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest) and other State System schools to continue its numerous research and grant programs and related pre and post award services in a shared services capacity. In consideration of the IUP RI’s unique relationship with the State System schools, and the RI’s familiarity to the systems processes and procedures, this makes the IUP RI uniquely qualified to provide these services. It is for these reasons that the IUP RI is the only provider capable of providing this level of services to the system’s universities.
