All retread tires provided will meet all applicable Federal, State, and local laws governing tires and meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Tread being applied to casings will be done using the industry standard method of application to casings that are in good repair and suitable for road use. Companies bidding on the contract will have a valid DOT shop number. Tires will be expected to give satisfactory service under normal operating conditions for the usable tread life on any retread. Tread depth must be at least 24/32 on the 11R tires. All tread designs must have maximum traction in rain conditions. Full replacement of the retread or repair costs will be issued during the first 2/32” of usable tread wear or a pro-rated amount for further wear if the retread becomes unserviceable due to a covered warranty condition. Bidders shall include with their bid package a full copy of their warranty. Also, include a pro-rated chart for covered warranty periods where tread has surpassed the total replacement of the tire. All casings will be picked up when a tire delivery is made to the warehouse or maintenance center unless prior arrangements have been made. Unusable casing pick up for the tire sizes listed in this bid package shall be at no additional cost to the City. Individual unit prices for the three tire sizes in this bid package will include delivery cost, any and all repairs to casings, casing credit or casing replacement, and disposal cost if necessary, FOB Valdosta, GA. Bidders agree to stock an adequate supply of the tires listed below. Orders that cannot be filled in a timely manner resulting in the City having to order from a different company can be held responsible and required to pay the difference in the contracted price and the pricing offered from a non-contracted vendor at the City’s discretion. All orders must be filled within 24 hours after the City places an order. Vendor will recap all serviceable casings that are provided by the City of Valdosta. Vendors will not sub-contract recapping services. This must be done on site at bidders owned or leased address(s). Vendor will utilize tire compound that contributes to good traction, tire mileage, and longer wear for the City of Valdosta. Vendor must dispose of unserviceable casings at no additional cost. Vendor must inspect all casing for needed section repairs; nail punctures, holes, sidewall damage or any other condition that might render the casing not serviceable for recapping.
