Specifications include, but are not limited to: These Specifications are for a reflectorized oil impervious, thermoplastic road marking material that is applied to a road surface. 4.1.1. Pavement Marking Materials (PMM) will be applied in a molten state by extrusion with a surface application of glass spheres. 4.1.2. When applied properly (appropriate thickness and width) the strip shall, be able to resist degradation and deformation by traffic, upon cooling. 4.1.3. The Public Works Department reserves the right to request a demonstration under actual working conditions to show the conformity of the material for these Specifications. 4.2. The thermo-plastic material must be homogeneously composed of: • Pigment • Filler • Resins • Glass reflectorizing spheres 4.3. Thermo-plastic binder used in PMM must be on the “Qualified Products List” as published by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). 4.4. Thermo-plastic material shall be available in both white and yellow. 4.5. While the manufacturer has the option of formulating the PMM according to their own specifications; the physical and chemical properties contained in this Specification are to apply regardless of the type of formulation used. 4.6. Upon reaching application temperature PMM cannot exude fumes which are toxic or injurious to persons or property. 4.7.
