Timber Stand Improvement for this project includes selectively cutting all slash (Pinus elliottii) and loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) with a diameter at breast height (dbh) of 6 inches or less within the 244-acre project area (see map). An insured and licensed contractor will use hand tools (e.g., chainsaws) to minimize ground disturbance and negative impacts on soils within the project area and will take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of invasive species throughout the project area. The contractor will not cut longleaf pine (Pinus palustris), live oak (Quercus virginiana), pecan (Carya illinoinensis) and pond cypress (Taxodium ascendens). The Contractor shall provide all equipment, personnel, supplies, and transportation necessary for successful completion of the project.
