Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall route cracks where required to a depth of one-half inch (1/2”) and a minimum width of three-eighths inch (3/8”). Contractor shall remove any existing joint sealing material that is not effective. Contractor shall provide and install any needed backer rods. Where cracks are too large for backer rod, silica sand shall be used. Sand shall be installed onehalf inch (1/2”) below road surface. Contractor shall clean the joint/crack of any foreign debris that would interfere with sealing operation. This shall include wire brushing, cleaning with compressed air, or other approved methods. Contractor shall fill all cracks; all construction or expansion joints; all joints between driveway/sidewalk aprons that abut the street or curb; all edge joints between concrete curbs and asphalt paving with joint sealer compound. All material shall be installed in accordance with Appendix “A”, Item 12.0 Joint Sealer, of the current Boone County Subdivision Regulations, Boone County Street, Storm, and Sidewalk Specifications. All material shall conform to Appendix “A”, Item 2.7.2, Joint Sealing Compound, of the current Boone County Subdivision Regulations, Boone County Street, Storm, and Sidewalk Specifications.
