Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City (“RDA” or “Agency”) is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms interested in providing design and installation of festival lights along Midvale’s Main Street (hereinafter referred to as “Project”). This section of the street is approximately 0.33 miles (approximately 1,760 feet) long, extending the length of Main Street from Center Street (on the South) to 700 West (on the north) and is designated as Midvale’s up-and-coming Arts and Culture district. The proposed Project will consist of exterior festival lights extending across Midvale’s Main Street. This Project will provide a key placemaking element in the urban environment of Main Street by creating a quality and one-of-a-kind space for owners, businesses, and patrons. The RDA has completed the Main Street Urban Streetscape and Lighting Study. This study has identified appropriate beautification and placemaking amenities, proposed locations of improvements, and general budgetary numbers. The Agency is now looking to take the results of this study and begin the final design and implementation of street festival lighting along the length of Midvale Main Street. The designated area for the festival lights installation spans approximately 0.33 miles along Main Street, extending from Center St. to 700 W. The RDA expects the lighting design to go beyond mere functionality. The focus is on creating a unique and immersive experience to include, but not limited to, innovative lighting techniques, patterns, and configurations that when incorporated in the lighting design should evoke a sense of wonder and captivate the imagination of pedestrians and visitors. The design should reflect the vibrancy and artistic spirit of the Arts and Culture District, while also considering the recommendations from the Main Street Urban Streetscape and Lighting Study.
