Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Want a contractor that specializes in Panalytical equipment and will still service older instruments. (Other companies have discontinued service on older Panalytical instruments). While we are seeking a contract for our newest instrument (> 15 yrs old), eventually we would like to have coverage for our other 2 instruments (both > 20 yrs old). 2. The company must have proven expertise on this equipment. These are delicate and intricate instruments and a service technician without proper training should not approach. 3. The company should be able to provide parts for the instrument. Many of the parts are no longer made and therefore are difficult to locate. Parts should come with at least a 90 day warranty. 4. When the instrument breaks down, the company should be able to provide a 24-48 hr response time. 5. X-ray tubes, consumable parts, can be hard to locate for these instruments. The company should be to readily provide these parts within the 24-48 hr window. 6. The contract should contain one preventive maintenance (PM) call per year and one service call if needed.
