Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The current eralytics eravap instruments with Ayalytical Instruments, Inc. now has the capability of performing ASTM D4052 test method. This test method measures the density, relative density, and API gravity of petroleum products. The Fuel Quality Program is wanting to add a density upgrade kit to one of the instruments. Adding the upgrade kit will enable the program to perform density tests on complaint, courtesy, proficiency testing, and wholesale gasoline samples while the program has the sample contains in the program’s lab. This will decrease the workflow (moving samples between two labs) and the number of samples the program is currently required to perform density tests on. The equipment upgrade will add a density module to one of the current Eravap RVP analyzers. The upgrade will enable a chemist to perform RVP and density on flammable samples while using the same analyzer. The updgrade to this analyzer will decrease the handling and movement of glass containers from one lab to another and more evenly distribute workloads between chemists. The ERAVAP is now the only vapor pressure tester on the market which allows for simultaneous measurements of two parameters listed in international fuel specifications like ASTM D4814 and EN 228 in a single analyzer, namely the vapor pressure of gasoline according to ASTM D5191 and the density of gasoline, diesel or jet fuel according to ASTM D4052.
