Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall: • Be ISO 9001:2015 certified for design, development, and manufacturing of fast dry traffic paint. Provide proof of current certification. • Provide paint to be used on City roadways. Material used in the formulation of the pavement marking paint shall meet the requirements specified herein. • Supply pavement marking paint that is a fast dry acrylic waterborne pavement marking paint this is fast-drying, water-based, acrylic resin-type capable of withstanding air and roadway temperatures without bleeding, staining, discoloring or deforming. Paint shall be ready-mixed, one component, waterborne lead-free traffic line paint, of the correct color, to be applied to either asphaltic or Portland Cement. • Prepare all manufactured paint at the factory ready for application. • Paint shall be of a consistency convenient for application at higher-than-normal pavement temperatures up to approximately 140 degrees Fahrenheit. • Provide paint that will dry with a tough flexible adherent film that will not crack, chip, discolor, or fade excessively with exposure to high temperature and sunlight. • Ensure the acrylic emulsion polymer used in the manufacture of the paint is Rohm and Haas Company Rhoplex Fastrack HD-21A resin technology. A listing of the resin and pigment products compatible to the requirements are as follows: o Rohm and Haas Rhoplex Fastrack HD-21A o Dow Chemical DT 400NA o Rohm and Hass Rhoplex Fastrack 3427 o Dow Chemical DT 300MA o Rohm and Haas Rhoplex Fastrack 2706 o Dow Chemical DT 211NA o Or equivalent fast dry traffic paint resin product that can be proven to match the function and performance of the listed products.
