Louisville Metro Public Works was awarded a $21.4 million Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Implementation Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to fund safety improvements for 10 corridors in Louisville in February 2023. All 10 of these corridors combined is a project referred to Rightsizing Louisville for Safe Streets. The rightsizing strategy for these 10 corridors is a Federal Highway Administration proven safety countermeasure. Rightsizing, also called a road diet or roadway reconfiguration, calms traffic and reduces speeding and weaving between lanes. Safer Speeds is one of five pillars of the Safe System Approach, which prioritizes safety and human vulnerability in the design and operation of a transportation system. Speeding increases both the frequency and severity of crashes and is a significant contributor to roadway deaths. 1. The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain specialized resources and expertise to support Louisville Metro in the implementation of a series of processes to monitor and control project delivery, scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, risks, procurement, performance of consultants/contractors, and stakeholder engagement. 2. Assistance in needed USDOT agreement amendments and required USDOT reporting for the life of the project. 3. Conduct performance measuring and reporting on the 10 corridors included in the project, so that Louisville can measure progress towards its goal of eliminating traffic deaths by 2050.
