Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor shall remove beehives in and outside of structures in various locations throughout DSH-N grounds. B. Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment required to access and safely remove bee colonies/hives and relocate bees. Equipment shall include Lifts if necessary, to perform services. C. Contractor shall relocate bees by setting up new apiaries or work with another organization. D. Contractor shall follow humane removal guidelines recommended by the US Department of Agriculture and California Wildlife Services and shall use best management practices to improve selectivity and reduce injuries to bees. E. Contractor shall thoroughly scrape and clean all nest cavities. Contractor shall encapsulate all areas associated with bees, clean the site of debris, wax, and honey. F. Contractor shall clean up and remove all unused materials, equipment, and chemicals, ensuring that the premises are left in an orderly condition. G. Contractor shall not use any pesticide or harmful chemical without approval from the DSH Contract Manager. H. Contractor shall check in with the DSH Contract Manager upon arrival and departure of each service call. I. Contractor shall provide service within 24 hours of DSH’s service request. Providing service means to physically show up on DSH-N grounds, access the bee hive/nest/colony and formulate a plan.
