Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. This program will enhance the behavioral health workforce by providing additional access to peers for youth in the Washington County region which will reduce the need for higher levels of behavioral health care, reliving the need for additional youth in care. B. The service provider will provide all services in a manner that is respectful, recovery oriented, trauma-informed, peer-inclusive, and culturally responsive. This shall be demonstrated through staff hiring, training and community integration. C. Provide peer support services to the following population(s): 1. Youth and young adults, ages twelve (12) through twenty-five (25) with mental health issues, co-occurring mental health and substance use issues 2. At-risk youth experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or foster care 3. Youth with trauma histories 4. Historically marginalized populations D. Services will include: 1. Assist and support youth/young adults in navigating service systems and identifying resources. 2. Assist youth/young adults in accessing substance use/abuse treatment programs, support groups, and other resources in the community at the youth's request. 3. Accept referrals from other agencies and community partners. 4. Provide referrals to other resources as appropriate or requested by the youth/young adult. 5. Support youth in identifying and building natural supports within the youth/young adults community. 6. Provide administrative and operation oversight of peer support staff that includes: ▪ Training and continuing education ▪ Supervision
