The COT seeks qualified and motivated consultant firms, teams, and individuals to provide services related to these goals. The following goals are the main priorities of the Community Engagement, Education and Mobility Support program: A. Encourage and enable more Tucsonans to walk, bicycle, utilize micromobility or transit, replacing car trips and improving air quality and roadway congestion. B. Encourage and enable K-8 schoolchildren, parents, and families to walk and bike to and from school, reducing morning and afternoon traffic congestion created by school drop-off and pickup. C. Educate K-8 schoolchildren, parents and families on safe walking and biking practices. D. Educate the public on traffic laws, safety and benefits of walking, bicycling and other active transportation modes. E. Foster collaborations with the schools, neighborhoods, and communities to identify short-term and long-term improvements to safety, accessibility and connect constituents to available resources.
