Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Wilmington is seeking qualified commercial real estate brokers to assist in the sale of its surplus real estate properties. The purpose of this RFP is to identify experienced and reputable brokerage firms capable of providing comprehensive services to effectively market and facilitate the disposition of these properties in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes. The City aims to maximize the value of its surplus real estate assets while adhering to the highest standards of transparency, efficiency, and accountability throughout the disposition process. We recognize the importance of engaging skilled professionals with a proven track record in commercial real estate transactions to achieve these objectives. Qualified brokers will be expected to demonstrate their expertise in navigating complex real estate markets, developing innovative marketing strategies, conducting thorough property assessments, and negotiating favorable terms on behalf of the City. Additionally, brokers should possess a thorough understanding of local zoning regulations, market dynamics, and industry best practices to effectively position surplus properties for sale and optimize returns for the City. Through this RFP process, the City seeks to establish a roster of pre-qualified brokerage firms that can be called upon to provide their services as needed for the sale of surplus real estate properties. Pre-qualified brokerage firms will be directed by staff, on a task order basis, to manage and oversee the marketing, communications, and negotiations of a specific property as well as advise the City on local market conditions and other due diligence items.
