Specifications include, but are not limited to: The NC Department of Public Instruction invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide professional services for the Chapel Renovation project at the NC School for the Deaf (NCSD) in Morganton, NC. The Chapel is a 7,238 gross-sf (5,235 net-sf) structure that was built in 1974. The facility experienced damage to soft surfaces due to a chiller malfunction. Renovation and restoration shall include ADA updates and compliance; HVAC replacement (including chiller replacement and installing local heat source independently operated from steam plant); roofing repairs, lighting replacement, mold remediation, and finishes replacement (carpet, ceiling tile, etc.). The Chapel is currently unusable due to mold. This renovation project will render this centerpiece facility usable by staff, students, and visitors.
