The City of Akron, Ohio is seeking qualified Engineering Consultants to provide professional services for the US 224 (Waterloo Road) Water Main Extension. This project consists of the design of the extension of 2000’ of 16” water main to loop two dead-end water mains installed in 1999 and 2001 in Springfield Township and updating the Springfield Booster Station to provide additional pressure and flow. The consultant will prepare construction documents, detailed construction plans signed and stamped as the Engineer of Record, cost estimating, and technical specifications. The benefit of this project would be to provide additional pressure and flow into Akron utilizing the Springfield booster station that was constructed in 2006 but never used. Numerous calls from customers on Waterloo Rd. around Arlington about low pressure. Some of these customers are the old Carousel Dinner Theater, The Valor Home, and the Penske truck facility. Also, a consultant will be contracted to determine the condition of the Springfield Booster Station and propose necessary improvements to bring the booster station into service.
