Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Test the rooms and surfaces that need to be demolished for background radiation and obtain reports to determine waste sites for the demolished materials. Hazardous materials testing for ACM (Asbestos Containing Materials) has already been completed. 2. Install anteroom to mitigate dust and debris. 3. Demolish a portion of the west exterior wall, building entry door and wall, the interior wall between Rooms 130A and 130B, the interior wall between Room 130A and the Corridor, and the interior wall between Room 130B and the Corridor, which will create a clear opening that is large enough for the Cyclotron removal. 4. Title 24 and accessibility ADA upgrades to the existing facility are required. The lab benches, fume hood, and biosafety cabinet in room 130B will be demolished and replaced with new ADA-compliant models once the walls are rebuilt and finishes are reinstalled. The nearest restrooms, Room B7- 332 (Women) and Room B7-330 (Men) will also require accessibility ADA improvements. 5. Coordination for monitoring, testing, and documentation required for demolition of the construction process is included in this Scope of Work. This effort will abide by the rules for demolition and disposal of radioactive waste as mandated by the California Department of Public Health and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. 6. In Room 130A - Remove the embedded Cyclotron tracks and trench plate covers. The floor slab will be cut, rails and steel support will be provided for the existing Cyclotron, and concrete will be removed as bulk. The walls between Rooms 130A and 130B, Room 130A and the Corridor, and Room 130B and the Corridor will be reconstructed to their original state, including the door, jamb, window, and utilities. 7. The exterior walls will be rebuilt to match the existing construction, configuration, and finishes, including the window and the brickwork. The west elevation brick will be saved and returned to its original assembly. 8. Design a Radiopharmacy Hot Cell Lab in Room 130A. The new floor slab should be designed and engineered to meet the latest equipment requirements. 9. Dust Mitigation/Extraction during and after construction.
