Specifications include, but are not limited to: Type of Service: The repair and replacement of tires on City vehicles and equipment. The City will contact the vendor on an as needed bases for tire repairs. The vendor shall furnish a replacement tire that is equal to the tire being replaced. In certain circumstances, City employees from various City facilities may bring tires directly to the vendor’s site for repair services (particularly) when the City facility is located closer to the vendor’s business location than the CMF location. In these circumstances, when employees bring tires to the vendor’s site for repair services, the vendor will record the employee(s) printed name and phone number on the invoice and, the City shall not be charged an “off-site” tire repair charge rate. The tire repair charge rate(s) shall be the same as the CMF location “On Site” tire repair charges Spares: The vendor will maintain an inventory of spare tires and rims for the Chevy Tahoe, Dodge Charger (Patrol and Civilian), Dodge Durango and Ford Explorer (Patrol and Civilian) with air pressure sensors for call out repair at no extra cost to the City. The City of Wichita will not provide spare tire or rims for call out repairs. If a rim or tire is considered damaged, the vendor shall drop off damaged goods at the CMF complex Shop 1 during business and notify the Shop Supervisor. The damaged equipment will be marked with date, time and equipment number. All tires will be marked with date, time and equipment number. All tires will be patched or plugged if possible. If damaged equipment is considered useable by Fleet Maintenance staff, then vendor will not be paid for replacement. All non-steer tires for GVW 35,000 lbs. and greater shall be retreads Emergency Call Out: There are times when immediate repairs are needed. Under these circumstances, the vendor will be required to respond to make repairs in the field. The response time of these operations are critical. The maximum response time of these repairs will not exceed 30 minutes inside the City limits.
