Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Leading and performing all negotiations and strategy development for the Meet and Confer process. • Attending all Meet and Confer sessions, which are expected to require initially two days per week once the Meet and Confer process commences. This requirement may require adjustment for additional time as necessitated by the progression of the negotiations. o Serving as the designated lead negotiator and spokesperson on behalf of the City, representing the interests and desired outcomes meeting designated business, operational, and financial goals. o Providing advice, guidance, and support to management, including drafting, reviewing and modifying position statements and proposals. • Communicating effectively with union representatives, executives, and management to create a positive working environment that promotes successful conclusion of the Meet and Confer process. • This consultation work will be for periods of time necessary to accomplish negotiation of a labor agreement to completion. The work is intermittent in nature and will be based upon supporting the timing of labor agreements deadlines and meeting the needs of the City of Tucson's demands for negotiating labor agreements with approved labor organizations.
