MDFT is a family-focused treatment, serving ages 10-26, addressing a wide range of youth behavior challenges such as substance use, juvenile justice involvement, problems at school, emotional and mental health difficulties, antisocial and aggressive behaviors, and family problems. MDFT International provides on-going training and consultation via telehealth and in person to DMH staff trained in the MDFT model. The Vendor provides clinical support needed to maintain fidelity to the model. The Vendor meets with MDFT staff monthly for training purposes, case reviews, and consultation on more challenging cases. MDFT International also provides yearly reports based on the SC DMH cases and as needed upon request quarterly. : MDFT was implemented in the US and Europe over 20+ years. MDFT International is effective in both mental health and substance abuse treatment. No other in-home service model covers these issues nor covers an age range of 10-26. MDFT serves a wider array of challenges and does not exclude families due to parent/guardian criminal history or drug use. MDFT defines a “caregiver” in broad terms to include parents, grandparents, foster parents and other family members or mentors in guardian roles. SCDMH has tried soliciting this in the past and MDFT International was the only vendor that responded. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
