Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bexar County is seeking educational classes for domestic violence offenders, to acknowledge and take personal responsibility for the consequences caused by their behavior and work towards repairing the harm done. Through these classes, offenders should learn about healthy relationships and non-violent behaviors. Classes should address any pre-existing beliefs that abusive partners might have, such as entitlement, ownership, and gender roles; while at the same time learning to identify and accept the reasoning for their behavior and work towards self-healing. These educational classes will not constitute as certified classes to meet court ordered mandates. Awarded respondent must: report on client attendance and evaluation upon request to determine progress made by participants; attend all Reflejo court weekly staff meetings (approximately 2-4 hours) and weekly court hearings (approximately one hour); and adhere to all applicable Texas laws and follow best practices for participants, as set forth in the national drug court model.
