Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Canopy posts shall be Tube Steel (TS) 2 1/4” x 2 1/4” steel square post - 15 gauge with bare galvanized finish. Posts shall not exceed spacing of 12’ on center along canopy run. 2. Bottom of canopy structure shall be 7’- 6” minimum above finished grade. 3. All posts shall have a 4” x 4” x 1/8” steel plate welded to bottom of post. Posts shall be set in 8” diameter concrete footings 18” deep below grade, minimum. 4. Canopy beams and girders shall be composed of 6” x 2.5” x 16 gauge roll formed steel “U” channel members with a bare galvanized finish. Canopy purlins shall be 6” x 2.5” x 16 gauge “C” channel members. See drawings (Appendix V) for configuration. 5. Canopy structure shall be attached to the adjacent portable classroom building with “Power Lag” screws measuring 3” long, ¼” screws with 3/8” hex-heads at 3’-0” on center through siding to center of wood studs used for portable building’s wall construction. 6. U-channel at edge of canopy structure shall be connected to support posts with four (4) #14 x ¾” self-drilling Tek screws through the web of the member. Create notch in the bottom flange of U-channel to make the connection to the post possible at the web of the beam. See drawings. 7. All steel shall arrive to the site clean with raw galvanized finish. A cream colored .027 aluminum fascia shall be applied around all edges of the canopy. Omit aluminum fascia where canopy abuts portable classroom building. Provide a 1” bend to return the aluminum beneath the galvanized framing. 8. Finished aluminum fascia shall be carefully attached to galvanized framing with #8 x 1/2” long self-drilling Tek screws 12” from corners, and 3’ to 6’ on center the top edge of the aluminum and the bottom edge where aluminum returns under the framing. Aluminum border trim shall have factory applied finish coating in a cream color. 9. All roofing material shall be 29 gauge bare Galvalume steel roof decking that has a twentyfive (25) year minimum manufacturer’s limited color warranty. 10. Roofing material will be attached to framing with ¾” long #12 self-drilling, with washers, hex-head screws placed 12” on center.
