Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Weekly Maintenance of the landscape, which includes, but is not limited to, mowing, blowing, trimming, pruning, fertilization, aeration, weed control (both in hardscape and landscaped areas), cultivation, mulching, dethatching, plant replacements, renovation, irrigation system maintenance and management, litter removal, and cleanup of drainage facilities. 2. Irrigation maintenance, which includes the operation of the systems, coordination with any central irrigation system operator, adjustments, repairs, modifications, improvements, testing, analysis, and other work as needed. 3. LBU locations requiring weekly landscaping services are as follows: • Administration Building/Operations Service Center, 1800 E. Wardlow Rd, Long Beach, CA 90807 • Ground Water Treatment Plant, 2950 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA, 90806 • Gas Service Center, 2400 E Spring St, Long Beach, CA, 90806 • Alamitos Reservoir, 3627 E Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA 90804 • J. Will Johnson Reservoir, 2600 E University Dr, Compton, CA 90220 4. LBU may request as-needed services, which includes tree trimming, or other relevant additional work when the need arises. LBU shall request in writing any additional work prior to work being performed. Contractor will submit a written quote detailing materials and labor charges used for the additional work requested. Work may commence once written authorization has been provided by an authorized Department representative. 5. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, services and special skills required to perform the landscape maintenance as described in this scope of work and in keeping with the highest standards of quality and performance, as well as safe work practices and traffic controls. Environmental parameters must be given consideration during the execution of the landscape maintenance tasks. Increasing temperatures, exotic pests, drought, and land use are factors that have the potential to negatively impact the outcome of the landscape aesthetic. 6. Contractor shall use environmentally safe herbicide applications in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
