Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1.1 Contract Item #1 – Short Term (48-96 hour) Radon Test Kits for School/Educational institutions use. 3.1.1.1 Must have minimum 48 hour and no more than 96-hour test time. 3.1.1.2 Must not have an expiration date and an indefinite shelf life when properly stored in a low humidity, climate-controlled environment. 3.1.1.3 Must have activated charcoal or equivalent with moisture barriers in the packaging. Activated charcoal must contain 35 or more grams. 3.1.1.4 Each kit must have a unique ID number. 3.1.1.5 Each kit must be sealed and include instructions for conducting the test. 3.1.1.6 Kits must include mailing instructions for analysis. 3.1.1.7 Test kits must be submitted in bulk to the laboratory and individual mailers are not required. Postage for submitting the test kits to the laboratory will be provided by the sender. 3.1.1.8 A Device Placement Log sheet must be supplied by the vendor. Log sheet must be accepted either handwritten or typed and will include the following information: name of school/facility, address, county, contract telephone number, location of the test (room number or name), test kit ID number, test date started/time, test date end/time, date mailed, the results and date of analysis. The test results and date of analysis must be entered on the enclosed master log by the laboratory. See Exhibit B for example of Device Placement Log sheet. 3.1.1.9 Laboratory analysis of the radon test must be reported on a master log sheet for each individual school/facility. 3.1.1.10 Test results must be reported in picocuries per liter (pCi/L).
