The design project is funded by a Community Project Funding grant administered by the United Stated Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The project will include the design/permitting of a new 1.8 mile roadway from Route 42 in Beacon Falls, CT south to Route 67 in Seymour, CT, including a parallel segment of the Naugatuck River Greenway. The design for this roadway & Greenway shall comply with the latest Federal and State standards, including guidelines within the AASHTO manuals, MUTCD, and CTDOT Highway Design Manual. The Consulting Engineering firm selected may also be required to provide survey, prepare Right-of-Way maps, conduct hydrology/hydraulic analysis, structural design, traffic design/engineering, utility/lighting design, prepare permit applications conduct cultural resource investigations and supporting environmental documents, and/or perform construction inspection. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $19,000,000 including contingencies and incidentals. Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed to perform the assignment described above.
