Specifications include, but are not limited to: Polk County is soliciting vendors to provide medical staffing needs at Polk County Special Needs Shelters (SpNS) during and after declarations of emergency. When a hurricane is projected to impact Polk County and the path of such hurricane indicates the need for Polk County to operate shelters to accommodate citizens that may need or desire to evacuate their homes, the County designates shelters to accommodate citizens with special needs. Based on prior experience, the County may need anywhere from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 92 nursing staff to cover two 12-hour shifts. Projected medical staffing of these shelters are as follows: • 28 Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) or Registered Nurses (RN) • 36 Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) • 28 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) or Patient Care Assistants (PCA); The current Special Needs shelters are located at: 1. Bartow Specialty Care Clinic, 1255 Brice Blvd, Bartow, FL (max capacity 409) 2. McKeel Academy of Technology, 1810 W Parker St, Lakeland, FL (max capacity 242) 3. Ridge Community High School, 500 Orchid Dr, Davenport, FL (max capacity 1,057) 4. Stuart Center, 1702 S Holland Pkwy, Bartow, FL (max capacity 101); The County would like to partner with nurse staffing agencies to provide the desired services at these shelters to ensure the medical health and safety of citizens which require special medical needs.
