Specifications include, but are not limited to: This element of the 2018 Water Chestnut Management Program will have three subcomponents. One will be to focus on the removal of water chestnut (Trapa natans) by hand from ten (10) or more water bodies – lakes, ponds, wetlands, marshes, rivers, streams, creeks – located within the Lake Champlain basin of Vermont in Addison and Rutland Counties. These include Brookside Pond, Parsons Mill Pond, Pelkey’s Swamp, Horton Pond, a small wetland near Benson Landing, Root Pond, Phillips Pond, the Lemon Fair River, Richville Pond, and a small pond in Blissville. The second subcomponent will be to focus on the searching for and removal of water chestnut from the following sites in Lake Champlain: Converse and Cedar Bay, Town Fair Bay and Kimball Brook, Basin Harbor, Bulwagga Bay and surrounding areas, and the Van Slooten Marina. The third subcomponent will be to assist with efforts at other locations where management efforts are ongoing. This may include Lake Champlain locations and other Lake Champlain basin waterbodies from Charlotte to Fair Haven.
