Specifications include, but are not limited to: In accordance with the provisions of Texas Government Code, Chapter 2254, and Rules and Procedures adopted by the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC), TFC is requesting submittal of qualifications to provide prime professional architectural/engineering services (A/E) for Project #14-011-6461. Project to include but not be limited to the replacement of the failing roof at the TCEQ Complex at Building B and the repair of the air conditioning system and vent hood at the kitchen of Building A. TCEQ Complex is located at 12100 Park 35 Circle, Austin, TX. SECTION II PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1. Provide Professional Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Services to replace failing Butler system structural standing seam roof at Building B and replace the entire assembly. Services to include but not be limited to strengthening the existing structural joists to support the new roofing system which will be required per an earlier structural study commissioned by TFC. The Project also calls for the HVAC repair and upgrade of the AC system and kitchen fume hood in the Building A kitchen with additional cooling from DX units. 2. Approximate cost of construction for the aforementioned list of projects is estimated to be one million two hundred thirty eight thousand six hundred dollars. ($1,238,600). 3. Architectural improvements will be designed in accordance with the applicable industry standards and shall conform to the provisions of the latest issue of the applicable codes and standards including but not limited to the following: 3.1. International Building Code, published by the International Code Council, 2012 Edition (IBC) Commercial Construction. 3.2. NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), 2012 edition 4. MEP and Electrical improvements will be designed in accordance with the applicable industry standards and shall conform to the provisions of the latest issue of applicable codes and standards including but not limited to the following: 4.1. NFPA 70, National Electric Code (NEC) 4.2. NFPA 70E, National Electric Code (NEC) 4.3. American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1-2010 4.4. Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection: These systems will be designed in accordance with applicable industry standards and shall conform to the provisions of the latest issue of applicable codes and standards including but not limited to the following: 4.5. International Mechanical Code (IMC) 2012 4.6. American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 62.1 -2010 4.7. American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) 4.8. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) SECTION III SCOPE OF SERVICES 1. Provide Professional Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Services to provide design for a new roof system at Building B and an upgraded HVAC system at the Kitchen of Building A. Work to include but not be limited to: 1.1. Programming 1.2. Providing specialized consultants 1.3. Assessment of existing conditions to include a survey of hazardous material conditions if applicable 1.4. Review TFC existing documents/studies and perform detailed existing condition inspections to define and refine the scope of work and provide detailed cost estimates so that a budget can be attained. 1.5. Upon acceptance by TFC, firm will prepare construction documents for bidding by TFC 1.6. Participate in the evaluation and selection of construction contractors 1.7. During construction, the A/E will observe and inspect the work and at its conclusion, perform all inspection necessary for acceptance of the work. 2. A/E services shall be offered with the understanding of full compliance with non-discrimination requirements of the State of Texas by the A/E.
