Specifications include, but are not limited to: Installing reflectorized waterborne painted centerlines and road edge lines throughout the Town of Wilbraham, MA. The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, traffic control measures, equipment, and materials necessary to perform all operations in connection with line painting. Materials furnished by the Contractor shall meet the appropriate requirements specified in the latest edition of the MassDOT’s Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges and MUTCD. 1. All paint to be high quality white or yellow reflective. 2. All line painting must be completed by November 1st unless authorized by the Town. 3. All center lines and fog lines will be four (4) inches in width. 4. All painting will be done at night. 5. Contractor’s vehicles must be equipped with proper warning lights for safety. 6. Signage and cones to be supplied by Contractor as required. 7. Once line painting commences, Contractor agrees to continue on a nightly basis, weather permitting, until the entire list is completed. 8. This contract is governed by the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27 D as they relate to minimum wage rates. 9. The quantities of the work mentioned in the standard bid form are estimated quantities and actual quantities required may be more or less than the estimated amounts. 10. Prior to any pavement painting the Contractor shall contact the Town for the specific location of pavement markings. 11. In general, the work shall consist of furnishing materials and the application of pavement markings in accordance with the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devices and the Massachusetts Amendment of the Manual on Uniform Traffic control Devised and the Standard Municipal Traffic docs. 12. Materials furnished by the Contractor shall meet the appropriate requirements specified in the latest edition of the MassDOT’s Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges. 13. All equipment used for the application of paving markings shall be of standard commercial manufacturer. All other equipment and devices necessary for the application of the pavement markings and protection thereof and for the protection to the traveling public shall be as usually required for work of this type and shall be furnished by the Contractor. 14. The pavement marking equipment shall be operated at the speed and in accordance with other requirements of the manufacturer. 15. Truck mounted equipment is approved for the application of pavement markings except in such cases where in the Town’s judgment that it will be unreasonably delayed and/or the quality of the work performed by the machine is unsatisfactory. 16. No thinners shall be used for pavement marking applications except in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and the direction of the Town.
