Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Geographic information system or geographical information system (GIS) is a system designed to captuire, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present all types of spatial or geographical data. FDOT currently utilizes ESRI software, which is required to support all enterprise applications with a GIS Component as well as to support the District offices in terms of GIS development. OIT currently supports many Departmental applications that require various GIS services to be hosted from the ArcGIS Server installations that is maintained within the UNIT, DEVELOPMENT and PRODUCTION environments. : ArcGIS software and maintenance is critical to the Departmental applications that require various GIS services to be hosted. The impact of not maintaining this software will result in the failure of the GIS services and applications used statewide and by the public.
