Specifications include, but are not limited to: CDOT requires Phase II Professional Engineering Services for Taylor Street Bridge and Viaduct over the South Branch of the Chicago River. Phase II work will include design services for a new bridge and viaduct over the railroad tracks and South Branch of the Chicago River at Taylor Street. The project limits will be the Canal/Taylor intersection to the Wells/Taylor intersection. The construction scope of services will include tying into the existing roadway on retained fill from Canal Street to the Amtrak/BNSF tracks, construction of a new viaduct carrying Taylor Street over the Amtrak/BNSF tracks, a new bascule bridge over the Chicago River, a new roadway approach at Wells Street, and two intersection designs at the project termini. CDOT seeks Phase II engineering services for the design of this new dual leaf, Chicago-style trunnion bascule bridge and viaduct.
