Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide a trenchless, CIPP liner (or equivalent) to rehabilitate the sanitary sewer drain lines. The method of rehabilitation shall be continuous and tight fitting to provide a seamless and joint less "pipe-within-a-pipe". The contractor shall restore the structural integrity and significantly reduce any infiltration. The work on I-20 at the Kershaw Rest Area consists of installing CIPP liner in an 8" Diameter sanitary sewer pipe. The pipe is approximately 380 LF (Linear Feet) in length. The pipe runs perpendicular to and under East and West Bound Lanes of I20 with manhole access at each pipe end. Prior to installation of the CIPP liner the contractor shall be responsible for clearing and removal of all internal debris out of the waste water drain line that will interfere with the installation of the CIPP liner. This includes removal of a known obstruction at approximately 175 LF into the pipe. The obstruction appears to be a rubber pipe gasket that is rolled and partially obstructing flow. (See photo attachments) This pipe services two Rest Areas, which will be able to be shut down (SCDOT to facilitate rest area closures and reopening) for the duration of this work. The contractor shall be responsible for stopping and/or controlling any remaining flow to this pipe for the duration of this work to ensure the proper disposal of collected waste water.
