Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Contractor must provide year-round availability of foreign language interpretation services, excluding holidays observed by Knox County/Knox County Schools. Contractor must maintain staffing sufficient to provide this service. • Interpreter(s) must attend educational meetings, parent conferences, employee training, workers compensation appointments, medical visits, as well as facilitate any necessary translations of educational or employment related documents. Knox County will supply the awarded Vendor(s) with appointment details to include the student’s name, parental/guardian contact information and the appointment date and time. • Contractor must ensure that appointment details are confirmed with parent/guardian as needed. • Contractor must provide phone messaging notification to non-English proficient individuals of educational meetings and appointments, training sessions, appointments related to employment benefits, or any other meetings as needed. Phone messaging notification services shall be completed within thirty (30) minutes of request and shall be billed per message. • Individuals providing the interpretation services must be able to communicate fluently and effectively both English and in the language for which they are providing service both verbally and in writing. • Contractor must ensure that professional reference and background checks are conducted on any individuals utilized by the Contractor for the execution of any service provided to Knox County arising from this RFP. Individuals providing service to Knox County and Knox County Schools must maintain any relevant certifications and receive on-going training as necessary during the term of this service. Contractor must ensure that interpreters providing service to Knox County are trained in and adhere to Rules of Ethics and Confidentiality. • Individuals providing service to Knox County and Knox County Schools wear professional attire and observe appropriate decorum while providing service for Knox County.
