Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide materials and equipment that meet or exceed the RFQ requirements, contract requirements, project plan sheets, technical specifications and project specifications. Contractor shall secure all necessary licenses and building permits for all trades including street parking permits before beginning work, keep necessary records as required, and do all work in such manner as to comply with all ordinances and laws of the City, County, State, and Nation as apply to the work herein outlined. Contractor shall be responsible for all existing underground, overhead facilities, structures and utilities and contractor shall have all verified prior to the start of construction. Contractor shall call Missouri One-Call System at 1-800-DIG-RITE (344-7483). Contractor shall park, stage all materials, tools, equipment, etc. in an area approved by the City representative. The City shall not be responsible for theft or damage to the contractor’s property. All possible safety hazards to workers or the public shall be corrected immediately and left in a safe condition at the end of each workday. Contractor shall be responsible for providing and placement of barricades, tarps, plastic, flag tape and other safety/traffic control equipment required protecting its employees, the public, surrounding areas, equipment and vehicles. The flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic shall not be impeded, at any time while contractor is performing work under this contract. Contractor shall take all necessary steps to assure proper safety while performing work under this contract. Contractor shall be responsible for repair of damage to building exterior and interior, drives, curbs, streets, walks, grass, shrubbery and trees, which may be caused by workmen or equipment employed during progress of work. All such repairs shall be made to satisfaction of the City representative, at no cost to the City. The contractor shall conduct cleaning during progress of work and at the completion of the work. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove construction debris and waste from the site and to obtain waste receptacles as required. Cleaning and disposal operations shall comply with codes, ordinances, regulations and antipollution laws. Contractor shall be responsible for all cost associated with disposal. If the contractor fails to clean up during construction or at the completion of the work, the City may do so and the cost thereof shall be charged to the contractor.
