Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing culturally sensitive, comprehensive assessments and evaluations for clients referred by the DWI Compliance Program. 2. The Contractor shall conduct formal, comprehensive assessments in a physical setting to determine the extent and severity of client substance abuse and other related mental/behavioral problems. These assessments will be conducted through clinical interviews, personal history taking, and biological testing. 3. Based on the information obtained through the assessment interview, the Contractor will develop a treatment plan and provide a diagnostic statement summarizing the client's needs and treatment recommendations. 4. The diagnostic statements will be provided to the sentencing court and referring DWI Compliance Officer. To establish a definitive modality relating to mental disorders, criminal history, socially deviant personality traits, or physical and sexual abuse, assessment tools will be utilized. The Contractor will utilize the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), Fifth Edition, the 2013 update to the American Psychiatric Association classification and diagnostic tool, which serves as the universal authority for psychiatric diagnoses in the United States. 5. The Contractor will work closely with the DWI Program Manager, the Compliance Supervisor, and the courts to recommend the type of intervention and treatment plan necessary for the individual(s) once evaluations are completed. They will adhere to all requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and the Privacy Rule, and maintain all client confidentiality. Finally, they will participate in a team management approach to patient treatment planning.
