Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide all labor, material, and equipment, necessary to properly prepare and paint the exterior steel structures at the Clarence Morgan Sports Complex, 1750 GA Highway 21 South, Effingham County, Springfield, GA. Painting of canopy decking or roofing shall not be included. Exterior painted areas will include: a. Steel cross beams and columns at 10 designated seating area canopies. b. Steel frame at five (5) designated scorekeeper stands. c. Steel cross beams and columns at one (1) designated pavilion canopy. d. Steel cross beams at batting cage. 1. All work shall be performed in accordance with industry best practices, the manufacturer's recommendations, and applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations. 2. The paint system shall be of high-quality, designed to withstand the local weather conditions and adhere to the steel surface for an extended period. 3. The contractor shall conduct a thorough inspection of the existing paint system to identify any areas of damage, rust, or other surface defects. 4. All loose or flaking paint shall be removed by hand, mechanical sanding, or power tool cleaning methods, ensuring a clean, smooth, and sound surface for the new paint system. 5. All rusted areas shall be treated, prepared, and properly primed before paint application in accordance with the standards outlined herein. 6. Apply primer coat to metal surfaces as necessary with the exterior bonding primer. 7. Apply two (2) coats of exterior waterborne alkyd semi-gloss to designated metal surfaces. 8. Access methodology may include surfaces being accessed through a man-lift and/or ladders. If other means are required to safely access paintable surfaces to complete the project, these means shall be indicated in the proposal. 9. All application shall be performed using brushes, rollers, or sprayers, as appropriate, to achieve a smooth, even finish. 10.
