Specifications include, but are not limited to: FIBERGLASS DOORS - A. Seamless construction. B. Laminate and bond fiberglass reinforced plastic face sheets to internal door stile and rail channel subframe/core assembly. C. Bond composite door panel over its entire surface area, not just adhesive-bonded at perimeter stiles and rails. D. Stiles & Rails: 1. Aluminum extrusion subframe within door, constructed of channel shapes, square tubes, or rectangular tubes. 2. Shapes capable of accepting fiberglass face sheets. a. Integral reglets to accept face sheet on both interior and exterior side of door which secure face sheet into place and permit flush appearance. b. Screw or snap in place applied caps are not acceptable. c. Top rails with integral legs for interlocking continuous extruded aluminum flush cap. 3. Meeting stiles to include integral pocket to accept pile brush weather seal. E. Non-Fire-Rated Core: 1. Polyurethane foam having density of 2 lb/ft 3 . 2. Molding pressure and adhesive gel time sufficient to allow for penetration of resin into cellular structure of core to maximize shear and peel strengths at skin/core interface. F. Internal Reinforcement: 1. High-density polymer compression blocks, or plastic compression blocking, at hardware locations. 2. Do not use wood blocking, carbon steel reinforcing plates, ribs, or fittings. 3. Hinge Screw Pullout Strength: Minimum of 900 lbf. G. Faces: 1. Chemical resistant thermosetting polyester resin system with fiber reinforcing layers. 2. Minimum Thickness: 0.12 inches. 3. Structural reinforcement of face skin in form of random chopped fiberglass roving. 4. Chopped strand mat layers used to provide bond integrity between gelcoat, laminated facings and internal door structure. 5. Structural reinforcement in form of knitted multi-layer material with layers of glass fiber oriented in both vertical and horizontal directions for high stiffness, impact resistance, and resistance to warping. 6. Finish Texture: Pebbled. H. Hardware Preparation: 1. Factory mortise and drill for mortise template butt hinges, with stainless steel screws pre-installed for hinge attachment. 2. Provide and install hardware specified Section 08•71•00.
