The City of Santa Monica is seeking a team to provide professional design services for Phases 0, 1, and 2 of the expansion and redevelopment of the approximately 10.3-acre Memorial Park. Design of the underground stormwater harvesting system and newly expanded park will be based on City-provided documents including the approved master plan layout (see Attachment 1), with additional program and dimensional considerations as directed by the City Council during their October 15, 2019, meeting (see Attachment 3). The project site is presently occupied by Memorial Park and an adjacent parcel known as the former Fisher Lumber site which is home to the City’s Public Landscape Division (PLD). The design of Phases 0, 1 and 2 will consider all adjacent and shared utilities, uses and requirements; and will coordinate, where feasible, infrastructure for the future design and construction of Phases 3 and 4. The City is currently pursuing through a separate solicitation a comprehensive land survey and general geotechnical investigation of this area in order to inform the design work during design phases. A boundary survey is attached for reference (see Attachment 2) and a layout of the existing Memorial Park and former Fisher Lumber Site are shown in Figure 2 below.
