Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor will provide daily fire watch personnel when the fire system is set in test for hot work. Complete the provided fire watch log and turn in at the end of each day. Secure boiler using proper lockout and tagout procedures. Facility personnel to provide all required safe work and hot work permits. Remove sheet metal and insulation from area where feedwater patch will be installed. Disconnect feedwater piping and set aside for reuse. Cut and remove the damaged feedwater inlet connection and base metal to apply a new 12” OD patch. Perform an informational dye check once materials are removed to ensure that defects are removed from the base metal. If the crack runs past the proposed 12” OD patch, the repair procedure will have to be reviewed and discussed with Facilities Management. We expect hold points to be placed on flush patch fit-up and for final inspection and hydro. Prep the base metal edge for weld joint.
