Specifications include, but are not limited to: The filter media replacement will include removing and replacing the old filter media. This will consist of the removal and proper disposal of all the current media by the offeror and the replacement of the filter media in two (2) filters (14’x14’) with materials meeting American Water Works Association B100-16 for Filtering Material and listed under the National Sanitation Foundation Standard 61- Process Media. One sample and/or one test report of each size prepared by an independent laboratory detailing the physical and chemical characteristics will need to be provided for review. The offeror must furnish support gravel, filter sand, and filter anthracite that meets Virginia Waterworks Regulations and the Town of Rocky Mount Water Treatment Plant design. The total media depth, excluding support gravel, shall be 30 inches comprised of 10 inches of sand and 20 inches of Anthracite. Filter media shall be free from detrimental chemical or bacterial contaminants. For Anthracite coal, a sieve analysis shall be provided. Anthracite media specs are: - An effective size from 0.8 to 1.2 mm with a uniformity coefficient not greater than 1.85 mm.
