Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project consists of a slide around Mr. Fields house at Tan Yard Hollow Road in Letcher, County. Mr. Fields house is in imminent danger of sliding from its foundation and both the house and slide threatens access to the residences past his house and to Ky 931. This slide is located in Letcher County. To access the site from Whitesburg take Ky 931 in a northerly direction 3.88 miles to Tan Yard Hollow Road. Turn right and travel approximately 500 feet to reach the slide area on the left. The coordinates to the slide area are 3710'32.16"N, 8249'28.56"W. The Waste Area to be used is owned by Childers Oil and is an active fill site. The site is located beside US 119 in Letcher County approximately 3.29 miles south of the US 119 and Ky 15 junction in Whitesburg, Ky. The Coordinates are 378'6.72N, 8245'57.96W. The primary slide abatement planned consists of an H pile and lagging wall below the Phase I rail steel wall that was installed to protect Mr. Field's residence. The pile and lagging wall will repair the remaining slide and protect Tan Hollow Road which is the only access to the other residents and possible closure of Ky 931. Filter fabric and class II stone will be placed behind the wall. Mobilization is setup to provide for construction equipment to be delivered to the site. Utility Relocation/Replacement is set up in case any utility becomes impacted by the project. Traffic control is set up for road closures. Tan Yard Hollow Road will need to be closed for short periods of time to allow for material and equipment delivery. Structure Removal is setup to address the possible removal of a car port to facilitate access to the location. Site Prep is set up for both the residence and waste area for clearing and grubbing. Reinforcing steel and formed and finished concrete is included to construct 2 reinforced concrete walls. Non-formed and non-finished concrete is included to grout around the H pilings. Filter fabric and class II backfill are included to fill and stabilize behind the walls. Silt Barrier is included to prevent dirt and debris from leaving the work site. A hoe ram and excavator bid item is set up to address any areas where rock or soil needs to be removed to facilitate access for the drill rig and placement of the rail steel. Earthwork work bid item is included to excavate for the placement of the pile & lagging wall. Class II ditch is included to repair/replace the existing ditch along Tan Hollow road to the cross drain. Subdrain is included to extend the wall subdrains to a ditch or other logical drainage point. Soil and rock drilling and steel piles is set up for the pile and lagging wall construction. Non-reinforced concrete block wall is included to add extra support in front of the garage posts for safety concerns. Revegetation is set up for the waste site. Residential seeding is included for all revegetation efforts within the project site. Dense Grade is included to provide for access during normal reclamation. Bituminous repair is set up to repair Tan Hollow Road and driveway. Debris barrier is set up to protect the house during construction. Chain-link fence is set up to provide fall protection from the top of the walls.
