Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Pre-Installation Meeting A mandatory pre-installation meeting will be held at the project site prior to installation. Dealer to provide the name and mobile contact information for the Project Manager and lead installers at or prior to this meeting. The Project Manager and all lead installers will need to be present. During the meeting the elevator and building access will be described and the group will be permitted to tour the building. Building protection and sequencing of the installation will be discussed. B. Building Protection The Vendor/Installer will be responsible for the protection of Owner’s property during the period of installation and shall exercise care to prevent damage to the interior and the exterior of the buildings, lawns, trees, plant material, fences, walks, drives, roadways, signs, light poles, utilities and other improvements in and adjacent to the area of work. Building protection cost may be shared by various dealers, first dealer to install shall install protection and last dealer installer shall remove protection. Damage to Owner’s property resulting from the Vendor/Installer’s operations shall be repaired or replaced by the Vendor/Installer without additional cost to the Owner. Wall and floor protection must be utilized and is the vendor responsibility to provide. Masonite for all floors is preferred. Corrugated cardboard (ex. Ram Board) may be permitted on carpeted surface (no adhesive-backed plastic sheeting allowed). It may need to be replaced more frequently than Masonite if it does not hold up to the use. Cardboard corner protectors at all doorways and entries, including elevator and door protection. Special attention shall be paid to adherence of protection material to building finishes. All resulting damages due to the use of adhesive shall be repaired by the vendor to its original condition. C. Delivery Furniture may not be drop shipped without prior written approval by the Owner. Vendors must meet all trucks onsite to off-load and distribute materials within the building(s) and to their designated locations. All necessary equipment must be provided by the vendor. D. Installation/Completion Furnish labor, incidental materials, equipment, supplies, and supervision to receive, inspect, assemble, place, level and clean furniture in specified locations in the Owner’s buildings, and to perform a complete installation of items under this agreement. Ensure that all items are installed level, properly aligned and true, and located as shown on the furniture plans. All packaging and protective coverings must be removed and seating inspected for damage and dirt. Vendor is required to clean or replace any soiled fabrics or finishes found prior to occupancy of the space by Owner. Remove from the project waste materials and rubbish resulting from his work and including packing cartons and other debris. Inspect, test, lubricate, and adjust all operating hardware. Repair, or replace defective or damaged parts, components, and other items at no cost to the Owner. Execute final cleaning just prior to acceptance of the entire work. Remove all protective materials; clean all surfaces of dirt, smears, finger marks, stickers, and all other contamination and foreign or extraneous matter. Use cleaning agents and solvents which will not damage material and finishes, as recommended for the purpose by the manufacturer of the material to be cleaned. Vendor is responsible for removing their own trash from the site daily. Dumpsters already onsite for construction purpose may not be used by the vendor. The vendor is responsible for any furniture items damaged during the process of delivery and installation.
