Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vendor shall provide Laundry Services for the Ludeman Center three (3) times per week, as specified by the Center. The laundry will consist of twin flat and fitted sheets and pillowcases, which are owned by the Ludeman Center. Upon arrival at the Ludeman Center, the Vendor shall pick-up building keys from the Center’s Chief Engineer’s office to access the laundry rooms at each of the residential buildings and the Health Center. After completion of pick-up and/or delivery, the Vendor shall return the keys to Building 1. The Vendor shall pick-up dirty linens at each designated building, for an estimated total of 44 pick-up points consisting of 42 residential homes and the Health Center. The number of pick-up/delivery points could vary during the contract term depending on the operational needs of the Center. The Vendor shall record the number of linens picked up at each building and shall deliver the same amount of linens back to the locations the next delivery day. All soiled laundry shall be handled as contaminated and Universal Precaution Procedures should be followed by the Vendor and the Center. The Vendor’s delivery vehicle shall be large enough to prevent cross-contamination of dirty and clean laundry during the pick-up/delivery process. Semi-trailer trucks are not to be used due to narrow roads at the Ludeman Center. The Ludeman Center will provide the Vendor with bags that are to be delivered to each building for dirty laundry collection. The Vendor shall be responsible for providing clean plastic bags or shrink wrap to package and deliver the clean linens. The Vendor shall supply all detergents and supplies, with the exception of laundry bags for dirty linens, required to complete the laundering process. The laundry process shall be provided as follows: Perform all sorting of linens; All soiled/stained linens shall be specifically treated; The vendor will be responsible for providing all equipment, detergents, and other essentials, and the laundry must be processed in conformity with all health regulations including the Joint Commission and the Environmental Health and Plumbing Standards of the Illinois Department of Public Health; The Vendor must ensure that all items are completely dry; Linens which are permanently stained or torn shall be reported to the Center’s Contract Manager; Linens that are not satisfactorily laundered shall be returned to the Vendor for “re-washing” at no cost to the Center. Returned linens will be placed in a separate bag for reprocessing; The Vendor’s staff will unload and load all laundry and deliver to designated areas as specified by the Center. The Vendor understands and agrees that some soiled laundry may come from residential homes which house incontinent individuals and/or individuals with infectious/communicable diseases. All work/services must be processed and finished in a manner that is acceptable to the Ludeman Center. The quality and timeliness of delivery of the completed product is the essence of this contract. Per Section 3.3 – Termination for Cause, the Ludeman Center reserves the right to cancel this contract should the quality and/or timeliness of the service be unsatisfactory or other specifications herein not met.
