Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor must respond to the Department of Public Facilities, by phone, in a timely manner within eight (8) hours after receiving a service request call and must be prepared to have an employee on site within twenty-four (24) hours of the phone call. If service is an emergency, contractor must respond by phone within one (1) hour and work must be started within four (4) hours. The contractor must provide a phone number, or other means of direct contact, in which the Town of Lexington, Department of Public Facilities can make contact with the contractor at any time (24/7) to request emergency service. Contact information, including Business and Cellular phone numbers and email addresses, of the awarded vendor must be provided to the Town. Awarded vendor must provide an emergency on-call contact phone number so that emergency repair calls can be placed for emergency services outside of normal business hours. A site visit to a location identified by the Department of Public Facilities must be scheduled in a reasonable period. This should normally occur within 48 hours, but as needs and circumstances will vary, it is expected that a contractor will accommodate the needs of a Department of Public Facilities. All appointments made between a contractor and the Department of Public Facilities must be kept unless the Department of Public Facilities agrees to a change. Failure on a contractor’s part to keep appointments may result in termination of the contract. All quotations for On-Call work must be provided at no cost to the Department of Public Facilities. SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS Include one (1) monthly examination for each elevator, which provides lubrication of appropriate components that control mechanical operation, cleaning all components, and adjustments to ensure performance in accordance with Code requirements. The elevator mechanic must test the electrical wiring, control boxes, electrical circuits and operating controls. Additionally, checks of elevator speed and emergency telephone operation must be done. Vendor agrees to document and provide detailed estimate of deficiencies discovered during maintenance visits. Further, any deficiency discovered that jeopardizes safety should be communicated while on site and repairs done immediately to bring the equipment back to safe condition. Including but not limited to door operation, floor-to-floor travel, acceleration and deceleration and emergency safety equipment.
