The City of Charleston is seeking to procure for the City the best value in accordance with the specifications contained herein for purchasing solar compacting trash receptacles thereby replace its aging waste collection system for the Central Business District (CBD) sidewalks as well as in other locations within the City. There are approximately 108 receptacles in the City that the City of Charleston is seeking to replace with 108 solar powered compacting receptacles with foot pedals. The City requires a system that will increase the capacity for waste, reduce emissions through application of smart technologies, reduce the number of collection visits, and enable a more modern collection method. The vendor should be able to supply, deliver, maintain and manage the units.
