Type Must be a floating modular system made of heavy-duty maintenance free materials. The dock, and access to personal water craft (PWC) launch must all be accessible and ADA compliant systems. All modular pieces must be compatible with each other and contain all hardware, adapters, couplers, cables, or kits necessary to complete construction assembly and installation of the system. Launches The floating platform will have a single ADA compliant launch system. All sections or pieces necessary to create a “Drive-Thru” Launch are required that allows for left and right entry/exiting from the launch. Launch system will be a complete “Drive-Thru” style system with pans, rollers, ports, and aluminum grab rails that extend over the water. The system will be 60” Wide and a minimum of 298” in length (excluding the distance hand rails that extend past the launch into the water.) Transfer System An ADA accessible transfer system to allow persons with mobility issues to access the kayak launch is required. The system can have a seat or other system to allow persons to easily access their PWC, and should have aluminum hand/grab rails to aid in the transfer. Dock Sections Two Rectangular dock sections 80” wide by 120” in length are required. (Or equivalent sections to create a 160” x 120” platform) A half hexagonal or similar style section is also required to connect the platform dock to the gangway. Extra dock section should be 60” x 120”. Gangway An Aluminum Gangway to access the dock is also required. Gangway shall be 48”to 60” wide and 12’ to 20’ in length and be complete with Aluminum hand rails. The Gangway shall be ADA compliant and all widths, hand-rail heights, and other components shall meet minimum ADA specifications. Gangway shall be complete with any hinge kits or dock kits to connect the gangway to the dock and the shore. Curbing Curbing or edging material for the dock is also required. An estimate of 56’ of curbing is required, but actual required quantities may differ from this estimate. This curbing is required for safety to provide stop protection for wheelchairs or from slipping. Curbing will be installed along the perimeter of the entire dock section, with openings in the curbing to allow for access to the gangway, and PWC launch. Abutment Kit A shoreline abutment attachment kit to secure the gangway to the shoreline is required. Kit shall be suitable for no-wake lake installations and shall be made of heavy duty stainless steel with locking removable pins. Shoreline abutment kit shall contain all posts, anchors, stabilization arms, etc. to connect Gangway and Dock platform to shoreline.
