Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Western District headquarters is located at 888 Old Windsor Road in Dalton, Massachusetts. The building was constructed in the 1980s and is a āDā log frame residential style structure on a concrete foundation. The building is a single story in the front and 2 story in the back. All relevant portions of the latest edition of the State Building Code (9th Edition), and the special provisions contained herein shall apply to the work performed under this Contract. The work to be performed under this Contract shall, in general, consist of the following: 1. Repair and/or replacement of 3 sections of logs exhibiting rot. Replacement/repair shall be structurally sound and sealed against weather. Removal of a portion of the rear deck is allowable if necessary to properly repair logs. 2. Media blast building exterior (sanding may be considered as an alternative). Clean surface using compressed air or log wash solution. 3. Seal and caulk all log checks and gaps between logs using product compatible with stain to be applied. 4. Stain and seal building exterior with high quality product such as Outlast Q8 log oil or equivalent. Contractors may suggest alternative products/staining procedures which may be approved by MassWildlife. 4. Miscellaneous carpentry and exterior repairs required for the project, but not specified under some other item.
