MSU expects that the Firm will provide quality legal representation in the different legal areas encountered by MSU. In addition, the Firm must provide these services in the most reasonable and economical manner possible. MSU desires proposals for legal representation in all areas on an as needed basis. MSU may issue one or more personal service contracts with multiple firms to secure the needed representation. The Firm may submit a proposal for representation in any or all of the areas listed below. Preference may be given to firms that offer representation in multiple areas of need as itemized below: Areas of representation include but may not be limited to: • General legal counsel to the Board of Regents and administration of the University • Patents, copyrights, and inventions • Immigration issues • Tax law, employee benefits, and compensation issues • Environmental issues • Real estate • Title IX Hearing Officers and/or Appeals Officers
