Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1: Manage cross-sector clean hydrogen stakeholder engagement statewide, including among public entities, community and labor organizations, and private industry, to coordinate ecosystem-level development of clean hydrogen production, transport, storage, and use at scale. This may entail: - maintaining targeted communication systems, working groups, databases, etc. - organizing and/or participating in key stakeholder events like group planning meetings, conferences, industry events, etc. - developing and maintaining systems to identify and support clean hydrogen projects in California, including through strategic coordination of complementary needs and projects in production, storage, end use, etc. - developing hydrogen implementation plans that leverage federal, state, local, and private funding to accelerate market penetration - developing outreach and education materials to educate fleet owners and operators (including transit) on how to successfully integrate hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle into their fleets - developing outreach and education materials to inform community members about the benefits of hydrogen and what they can expect from projects in their communities Task 2: Employ relevant expertise in both technology and market development to support negotiations with the US Department of Energy for a pending federal funding award of up to $1.2 billion for a regional clean hydrogen hub in California. This may entail: - responding to inquiries from the US Department of Energy for additional information about hydrogen projects in California, especially those included in federal funding proposals - organizing the collaborative development of white papers, letters, or other expert analysis and communications as needed to inform clean hydrogen development and policy implementation in California Task 3: Engage diverse community stakeholders to build public awareness about clean hydrogen’s role in addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions, and facilitate dialogue and relationships that will help maximize economic and environmental benefits in priority communities.
