The Department of Natural Resources, Parks & Outdoor Recreation, is soliciting bids for two twintracked snow machines with electronic controlled groomer attachments for our operations in Nancy Lake State Recreation Area and Denali State Park for trail maintenance and grooming. In both locations, deep snow and challenging terrain that requires large utility sleds to perform the necessary trail maintenance and grooming operations and will maintain sufficient float and operate consistently throughout the winter season. Within Nancy Lake State SRA (NLSRA), the State manages a large network of multi-use trails that access our Public Use Cabins, as well as a series of non-motorized cross country ski trails. The State also grooms a wide variety of motorized trails including the Nancy Lake Parkway, from the winter trailhead for snowmachines. For Denali State Park, our non-motorized winter trails provide access to public use cabins at Kesugi Ken compound, and a network of cross country/snowshoeing trails around the campground. The State also maintainstrails out to the Byers Lake public use cabins from the winter trailhead parking area at Alaska Veterans Memorial.
